St. Louis In-Home Newborn Photographer | Newborn Session Expecations
As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I often get asked by my clients how they should approach their sessions. Do they need props? What should their newborn wear? What should they wear? What about their home? When do you shoot lifestyle newborn sessions? For me, I really focus on keeping things simple and keeping my families as informed as possible.
First, all my of clients receive a detailed newborn session prep guide about a month prior to their session. This helps my families know exactly what to expect and how prepare for their session. They also fill out a questionnaire that helps me prepare for their session and know their expectations. This addition to my work flow has been huge for clearing up issues before they arise. I know about client concerns, personalities, or wants before we even meet. Second, all my full session clients get access to an amazing online styling service. My families are raving how beneficial this service has been for them. They can get ideas or purchase items directly from the site. It is really simple to use and really helps visualize how your family will look. I also have a wide variety of newborn outfits, swaddles, bows, bonnets, blankets…the list goes on and on. Lastly, you receive help from me! I am there prior to, during, and after a session to help my clients with any questions they have. I often help families choose outfits before a session, clear nightstands or other distractions during a session, and help with printing of images after delivery. My goal is for all my families to receive a custom experience tailored to their unique needs, also to provide timeless images that they love and truly tell their story.
