If you have been following my work for a bit, then you know my love for capturing newborns in their homes. In-home newborn and family sessions will always have my heart. But during a global pandemic, like COVID-19, I want to provide all of my families the opportunity to capture their brand new baby even if they do not want to be indoors. I shot my first sunset newborn session shortly after St. Louis allowed photography to start again. I was honestly a little unsure of how this would go. Once I saw the gorgeous light we had for this session, I instantly knew this would be such a great option.
Outdoors newborn sessions can work for any family and any age baby! So much flexibility with this type of session. I especially love this option for families that have toddlers. There is something about being outdoors in the wide-open spaces that truly brings out a toddler’s unique and fun personality! With this family, their little guy could just be himself exploring the field and having fun with his parents.
Sunset newborn sessions provide families the opportunity to capture all those details and moments without being inside your home. I use the golden light found at sunset and the surrounding elements to add a unique and beautiful backdrop to capture your new family. These sessions are still shot in line with my brand and style! This means no formal posing of the baby or props needed. I capture the love and emotion I see in front of my lens!!! I have fallen in love with these sessions. After shooting this session, I have decided to add newborn sessions outdoors as a permanent offering.
If you love the golden light and authentic emotion, let’s chat about how we can bring that to life for your newborn session!
