2020 started off as THE year. This was the year I was going to take my business and life to the next level. I had such high expectations and goals heading into January 2020. Sound familiar for anyone else? If only we all knew in January what 2020 truly had in store for us all.
As I sit here reflecting back, I am surprised I feel so much gratitude for this insane year. I am most grateful for my family’s health this year and for TIME. Those months at home with my family provided with me with SO much time with them. Time to create memories we would have not created if we were not forced together.
Now I am not going to say it was all sunshine and rainbows. Let’s be honest being stuck at home with 3 kids under 6 is insanity, especially during a pandemic. I will also admit this time was also beyond stressful and caused so much anxiety for me…so many tears! BUT at the same time, we made some incredible memories. I also learned a lot about myself and what I need…like more alone time. HA! Being forced to stay home also allowed me to realize how much I loved my work, how much I needed it for my own sanity. I can truly say I am one of those people who get to do what they truly love. When it was taken away from me, I felt a little lost.
Once I got the all clear to work again, I headed back in at 110%. I was (and still am) shocked that in a year like 2020, I had the year I had. I shot more families than I ever had…143 to be exact! This year was also my most profitable year to date. I never dreamed I could build a successful AND profitable business!
Most importantly for me, this is the year I felt like I was truly booking families who were a great fit for my shooting style. These families truly trusted me and allowed me to do what I love. 2020 was also the year I felt I was consistently creating work I loved and that I was so proud of. When my families look back at 2020, I hope their photos provide them memories they can cherish of this crazy year! I want them to see the joy and beauty in their family even during all the uncertainty and stress.
In case you missed it, I did an end of the year photo contest giveaway on my Facebook page. It was so great watching everyone give love to their favorite images, plus sharing with family and friends. What a great way to end this year! So without too much more blabbering, the winner of the giveaway is…….
I am so appreciative to each and every person who has supported me and my business this year. All of your support, whether big or small, does not go unnoticed. This includes little things such as liking and sharing my work on social media to referring families and friends. All of this makes such an impact on a small business such as mine, so THANK YOU. You are all the reason that my business has thrived in such uncertain times! I am beyond excited and ready to head into 2021. I have so many awesome things planned for next year that I can’t wait to share with all of you very soon. Happy New Year!
