As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I often get asked by my clients how they should approach their sessions. Do they need props? What should their newborn wear? What should they wear? What about their home? When do you shoot lifestyle newborn sessions? For me, I really focus on keeping things simple and keeping my families as informed as possible.

Meet the cutest family around, The Richardson Family! This sunset family session is one of my favorites to date. Kayla is a local photographer, so when she contacted me I was over the moon excited and honestly a little terrified! I think shooting another photographer is the biggest honor but also usually makes me the most nervous at the beginning. 

Lifestyle newborn sessions are some of my favorites. Although, they are just as unpredictable as an outdoor family session, I personally love the real emotion that these sessions have. I shot this lovely family for an in-home  this winter. I love when I get to meet clients prior to their newborn session. It makes the process so much more relaxed for everyone. We spent most of our session laughing and talking about the struggles of parenting. 

Lifestyle newborn sessions are some of my favorite sessions. No two sessions are a like! Some are quiet and calm, yet others are energetic and loud! Each family brings a unique vibe and style to their session and that’s what I LOVE!  My job as your photographer is to capture YOUR family as they are, not to make you look like a pinterest perfect family.
